Powerboat Zapcat Blast - Hang on for a thrill ride that will simply make you laugh your socks off! These twin hulled light weight catamarans, designed originally for surf rescue, now redesigned for short course offshore powerboat racing. All of the Zapcats are the race ready versions capable of pulling in excess of 2G in a turn; with a power to weight ratio of 340 bhp per tonne, the acceleration is explosive so hang on tight! This experience provides you with almost two hours out on the water on a 10.5m 225HP RIB and a Zapcat. Please note: Drysuits and boots are provided. Showers and changing facilities are available in the marina, please be advised that these are shared premises with other marina users. Inshore Powerboat Racing Course - Experience one of the most glamorous watersports in the world. Planing across the water in a powerful craft is sheer exhilaration. After a few hours, you might just feel like one of the international jet set! This full day programme will leave you breathless with excitement. Here is your unique chance to race single-seater monohulls, catamarans and hydroplanes. Nothing else gives you such a feeling of mastery over the water. This is a great opportunity to learn straight from the experts how to drive three types of race boat, hydroplanes, catamarans and monohulls. In the hydroplanes you either kneel or lie flat on your stomach. The day will start at 9:00 with registration and tea and coffee. At 09.30 you will be officially welcomed, given a drivers briefing and introduction to the sport. Between 10:00 and 11:00 there will be an introduction to the boats, followed by practice driving until a buffet lunch at 1:00pm. From 2:00 - 5:00pm you will have practical race training, ending with afternoon tea, presentation of certificates and a memento of the day. During the day you are likely to do a total of 20+ laps, with each lap being just under a mile in length so you will cover quite a distance! There is a strict policy to nil tolerance to alcohol and drugs.
